Chelsea wrote, “I visit Operation Beautiful almost everyday just to renew my confidence and to remind myself that there really are people out there who think that appearances don’t matter. I’ve been comparing myself to the women in the media and it’s been my motivation to lose weight. Media’s basically in my face; the advertising seen almost everywhere with those women showing off their bodies. It’s up to the point where I had a corrupted view of myself because of that. I would go on a neverending cycle of crash diets to lose weight fast, give in to cravings, feel extremely guilty about what I ate, give up on diet, see another ad with a thin woman as a model, and then back to another crash diet. I was miserable. I found Operation Beautiful by chance and it’s changed my life, bit by bit. It’s even motivated me to lose weight at a healthy rate. I want to lose weight to get healthy, not to look like a model. It warms my heart every time I read a post it notes and it brightens up my morning. I’m just really thankful and blessed to have found something like Operation Beautiful that tries to encourage a positive body image for everyone.”
