Post-It Phrase of the Day: “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

Idelish wrote, “This has been the hardest summer I’ve ever gone through. It may sound corny but I’ve finally accepted my life myself and everything about my body – imperfections and all – because of Operation Beautiful.. Yes, I’m not Victoria’s Secret model, but I’ve come to accept the little things that have bothered me about myself. These past 5 months I gained about 20 pounds. You see, I used to have two periods a month, (which was not healthy for me at all) and so my gynecologist put me on birth control, which is an extra hormone I don’t need. So along with my weight gain came stretch marks, bigger clothing, extreme jealousy of my friends, worse acne and many many negative thoughts. I was buying clothing in a size I wasn’t use to. So when I would go grab a pair of jeans in my old size to find out that they didn’t fit me – not even close – I got really emotional. After two months of thinking and realizing how lucky I am, I have finally come to terms with my body and, well, my life. So in my way to thank Operation Beautiful, I decided to spread the word, all the way from South Texas to New Mexico to Colorado. I managed to place 14 sticky notes in shops and many restrooms. Here are a few!”
