Post-It Phrase of the Day: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

We need YOUR notes! Post a note, take a picture, and e-mail your story to Caitlin at [email protected].  Each note goes up on the site for thousands of others to read and enjoy!

Britney wrote, “I was shopping in our local Kroger tonight and walked down the magazine aisle to look at fitness magazines.  Obviously, I was thinking to myself, ‘Wow, you could like that if you didn’t _________(fill in the blank).’ But I saw a Post-It on Self magazine… and I read the note and decided against picking up the magazine I was originally going for. About 4 years ago I struggled with an eating disorder. I was a bit of a confusing case. I had binge eating as well as anorexia nervosa. It was a struggle, it messed my body up and threw my hormones totally out of whack. I have gotten through that with strength from God and many beautiful people in my life. I am trying to come to terms that this is my body I am who I am. I must remember regardless how I am I am beautiful!  It was destiny for me to see that note and remember I don’t have to be as fit or skinny as the girls in magazines. I just have to work on me, do what I enjoy and be happy about it!”

Kristi wrote, “Lately I’ve been listening to my 10 year old daughter saying more and more often that she isn’t pretty or that she is fat, and I was getting really disheartened.  I will say my daughter is a big believer in "random acts of kindness".  She does these things every day, without even noticing she does them.  We decided to end the summer with a "random act of kindness" day.  We went all over town doing fun, anonymous acts to put a smile on someone’s face.  We brought my 17 year old niece on board and together we posted notes at the library, in stores on the clothing racks, the makeup aisle, the hair care aisles, and the feminine product aisles.”
