Post-It Phrase of the Day: "The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life.”
Jerrica wrote, “I’m a freshmen at Millersville University in PA. Our bathrooms are filled with post-it notes that say inspiring things and promote you to believe that you are beautiful….there’s also a note telling you to take one. I did. I struggled with anorexia when I was in middle school, I hated how I looked. My family didn’t help with my issues, and no one noticed that I had stopped eating, that I was very depressed, because they were the ones calling me fat and lazy. I went days with out eating, only eating to prevent myself from passing out and when iI did eat it was something like an apple or soft pretzel. I passed out at a school dance in the bathroom and my best friend saved my life. She made me come to her house everyday and eat. I still to this day have problems eating at times. But when I get upset I think about the things I do like about myself. I sit in front of a mirror and tell myself: You have beautiful eyes, No one else has your eyes. Your hair is beautiful. Small things and I work up to bigger ones. Like I made it into college on my own with out any help. I’ve been through a lot in my life, but the best thing to ever happen to me is some where along the line this year is I learned to love myself. The small messages touch people and will live with them forever. I know it will for me.”
Amy posted all of these notes!
